Monday Aug 2 At Augusta Maine. Stopping at the Augusta House. Sarah staying with Grace Whitney Williamson, her former roommate at Pine Manor School. T.P.H. and I had breakfast at this Hotel then went down town and looked through the stores. T.P.H. then went up to Graces' home to see the baby who would be awake at twelve o'clock. She came back and had lunch with me at the Hotel. We rested and read all the afternoon. At early evening we got out the Packard called for Mrs Williamson Senior, then picked up Sarah Grace and Robert and drove out about ten miles to Gardiner ME to the Cove Manor House to dinner again the guests of Mrs Williamson (Roberts mother). We had a delightful dinner. Looked through this lovely old house. A fine example of how Mansions used to be built, then drove back to Agusta, left our Hostesses and Host at their homes and came back to the Hotel to prepare for our trip tomorrow.
