Wednesday Aug 4 At breakfast at Rye North Beach, then drove along the North Shore of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We drove over to Hampton N.H. to see Mildred Peck (Charles daughter), now married and has two children one two and the other four years old. We stopped at Ipswich for lunch, also called on a school friend of Sarahs, Theodore Perry, daughter of the Rector of the Episcopal Church there. We stopped at the home of Mrs Foster at Magnolia Mass to call on the Glaenzers who were visiting there but they had all gone to Boston for the day. A servant served us cool drinks and cakes, however. We drove through Salem and visited the "House of the Seven Gables". Saw its fine old furniture secret stairway etc. We then came on to Marblehead and are put up for the night at the Leslie a very unique place. Drove 82 miles.
