Friday Dec 24
Back to the store after three days absence. Down town most of the day shopping and enjoying my freedom from store keeping with Christmas stocks to sell. Met many acquaintances and exchanged Holiday greetings with them. Home to dinner tonight. The first time this has happened on Christmas Eve in fifteen years. We trimmed our tree tonight, finishing just before midnight. Then we opened our packages and enjoyed the gifts sent us by family and friends. It was so nice to be alltogether at this time. We learn that Ruth Curtiss is a bit better and we are hopeful that she will pull through. Rain and freezing as it falls. Everyone sliding all over the road. Larry and Aletha Stone called to see Sally.
