Monday July 5 Another beautiful day. Store closed all day. Celebrating independence Day today. Home all morning working in yard. Put up sign over front door marked "Glendean". Made for us gratis by Oliver Ober. Picnic of Spring Glen Community at Spring Glen Club. We pitched horse shoes then played base ball. Afterwards eating supper on the Club Lawn. Ending the day with a fire works display up on the Ridge Road. Some of the folks danced afterward but T.P.H. and I came home to bed. Sally remained awhile. It was quite a perfect day, and a lovely place to spend it. Cool and quiet.
