Friday July 9 Very hot today. Worked on the first floors of the York Street store all day cleaning up and starting to arrange stock properly. Sarah came in for me at six o'clock and on the way out we stopped and looked at Violettes new house by Lake Whitney. It to going to be just lovely and will make her a wonderful home. "Kewkee" Peterson Thompson were here today with her two children. Had luncheon and spent the afternoon.
