Saturday July 17 In Philadelphia with T.P.H.. (Sarah over at East River Conn. visiting Ruth Watrous.) After breakfast at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel, T.P.H. and I visited the store of Kayser and Allman #1522 Chestnut Street and saw his wonderful collection of fine Furniture and Wall Papers. We then went out to the Sesqi- Centennial Exposition and stayed all day till evening. The exposition is in celebration of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. At this date it is not nearly ready. A great many exhibitions are yet to be installed, but there are enough there now to make it well worth ones attendance. National Exhibition by Japan, China, Denmark, India etc etc are very interesting and instructive. We both enjoyed our day very much.
