Thursday July 22 Terrible heat wave continues. Thermometer again eighty eight to eighty nine degrees. About the hottest weather I have ever experienced in New York. Looked at the lines of York Wall Paper Co, Gilbert Wall Paper Co Hobbs Wall Paper Co and Walcutt Bros regarding our Book Covers. Had dinner with George Hanbury and on account of the hot night we went over to Brooklyn to the Hotel Bassert. The roof garden so arranged like a huge ship. Very unique. We had a good dinner and found a little breeze. Afterwards we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. It was a new experience for me. What a wonderful structure it is and what a wonderful expression of mans scientific mind. We took a taxi from the New York end of the bridge to the Hotel Commodore.
