Tuesday July 27 Rotary Outing today at Harry Browns Farm Southbury Conn. We all had luncheon at the Taft Hotel then drove via auto to Southbury. I rode out with Harley but came home with Jim Alexander for the reason that he lives near us at Spring Glen. We spent the afternoon playing Base Ball, Volley Ball, Push Pall and Quoit Pitching. Supper was served under the old apple trees, consisting of steaks corn on the cob, biscuit, milk and ice cream. The milk was furnished by Bill McLean of the W.H. Dairy Co. and the Ice Cream by Lehman Lane of the Harris Hart Co. Every one very thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Afterwards we all sat around on the grass while Jim Markhom and Douglas Yerxa told of the Denver Convention. This was followed by a debate "Should women be admitted to Rotary". Edgar Heermance and Jim Thriving spoke for the affirmative and Clarence Bronson and Ames Wilder for the negative. Result a draw.
