In Wells River Vermont. Had breakfast at Hales Tavern, then drove over to Woodsville N.H. to the Acer Lumber Co. to see Alfred Grant. He his Grandma (Mrs Watts) and the Hodges Party drove in our Packard to Lost River N.H. Had luncheon at Wild Wood Inn (a wonderful chicken dinner) then went on to Franconia. Franconia Notch saw the Old Man of the Mountains once again. This is a wonderful rock formation. Back to Woodsville having covered seventy miles through New Hampshires beautiful vacation land. Alfred, Sally and I then took a plunge in a typical "Old Swimming Hole" in the Amanoosick River. Back to afred's to dress, then over to Hales Tavern to dinner. Mrs Watts and Alfred being our guests. Later Alfred took Sally to a dance and we took Mrs Watts home to Woodsville. A very enjoyable day made so by the hospitality of our New Hampshire friends.
