Thursday June 10
Luncheon at Quinnipiac Club with Capt E.B. Baker, Harry Warner Pete Booth as a Committee to arrange for the tenth anniversary of the Border Expedition of the New Haven Grays with the old Second Regiment. Went out home early tonight and planted fifty hills of dahlias. One of the few jobs I hate. If they grow, I'll have another rotten job next fall when I will have to dig them up. Aletha and Larry Stone called tonight drove out in their new Ford car. Sarah and I drove down to Station at 11-40 P.M. to meet Eleanor Effler, who is to visit us on her way from Pine Manor school Wellesley Mass to her home in Chicago. She certainly is a very sweet girl and we all love her.
