Tuesday June 15
Still in Philadelphia, celebrating and guests of the City of Philadelphia. We spent the day today at Valley Forge Commemorating the one hundreth and forty eighth Anniversary of the departure of the Army of the Revolution from Valley Forge, where for six months - from Dec 19, 1777 to June 18-19, 1778 General Washington and his brave followers spent the most critical period in American history. We were transported from Philadelphia to Valley Forge by special trains and to the chapel by Motor Busses. Oration of the day by Hon Willam C Sproul, former Governor of Pennsylvania. It was the most wonderful historical address I have ever heard, The Grays held a Company Banquet at Hotel Adelphia in Philadelphia, then out to the Ball at the Sesqi-Centennial grounds. Fifty six veteran companies took part in the parade at Valley Forge.
