Saturday June 19 A very busy and hectic day today. Rose early and went into Chapel Street store, then up to Calvary Church and prepared for the annual picnic. Special trolly cars took all to Double Beach. Mr Poland transported the supplies in his truck. After getting things started down there, I came back to Chapel Street store on the trolly. T.P.H. and Sally called for me there and we went to Ansonia to the wedding of Miss Thomas, formerly in our Chapel Street office. It was a very pretty wedding. Miss Memmette was a bridesmaid and looked very fine dressed in green. T.P.H. and Sarah went to the Shubert to the Yale Dramatic Association play - "Orestes" a Greek play - I worked at home on Church School records.
