Wednesday Mar 31 Quite busy today at the Chapel Street Store selling Easter Cards, although it rained hard all day. Annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce held at The New Haven Lawn Club. Whitney and I Sat with Harley, Frank Ferrell and Charles McClellan. President John C. Tracy presided. Mayor John B. Tower spoke also Governor Trumbull of Connecticut who in turn introduced Governor Brewster of Maine who was the speaker of the evening, he spoke to the subject "What is Right with New England". It was a wonderful speech full of facts and figures about New England. Making us all feel sure that New England is the finest part of the World to live in.
