Friday May 21 Left New Haven at 10-40 with Harley for Philadelphia to attend birthday party of S Matlack, president of the Geo D. Wetherill Co. It was a very wonderful party about 150 men there all old friends and business associates in many lines of endeavor. We presented Mr. Matlack with a set of silver. Left Philadelphia at eleven o'clock on sleeper for New Haven. Jane Ankenny came down from Pine Manor school at Wellesley for the week end. Sarah came up from School in New York.
