Monday Sept 6 Labor Day. Stores closed all day. Rained hard today all day as it did yesterday. Many people disappointed who had planned outings over the holiday. We were home all day. Mc Tigh here for the week end left for New York tonight. Sally and I took him to the station. It was raining torrents. We then drove up to Auntie Violettes. They are staying this month in Horace Burgess house on Beers Street, while their own house is being finished out in Whitneyville. Brought Richmond home with us.
