Friday Sept 17 In Springfield Mass. Had breakfast at Hotel Kimball. We spent some time at Springfield Store then H.M.H. left for Boston and I drove back to New Haven, arriving in time to have lunch with Mr Crawley of the W.H.S. Lloyd Co of New York sellers of the Sanders Line of Wall Papers. Made in England. Charles Lincoln in to see me today regarding the sale of the house at #79 Norton Street. Thinks he has a live prospect. Home to dinner. Found that Sarah had come home from New York yesterday, so that her Mother was not at home alone last night.
