Thursday Sept 23 Rained nearly all day in New Haven. This is one of the days we had set aside as a sort of "Open House" at our York Street store after the alterations had been completed. Also to have our friends call and see our little "House Beautiful" in which we shall show our Wall Papers from now on. We gave flowers to the ladies and cigars to the men. The Dempsey-Tuinney prize fight for the Championship for the world was fought tonight in Philadelphia at the new stadium in the Sesqi-Centennial grounds. 132,000 people paid admissions for an amount of nearly two millions. It was a ten round match and Tuinney was judged the New Champion. T.P.H. and I heard the returns over the radio at our neighbors the Geres. Sarah went to New York today. Rode down on one of our furniture trucks with a load of for her apartment.
