Saturday, April 2, 1927 Worked till 5-30. Came out home on trolly. Had dinner at home. Sally called up from New York saying that she would be through rehersal in time to catch the 11-05 P.M. train for home. T.P.H. and I drove in to meet that train, arriving here at 1-20 A.M. She was so happy to be at home. Sarah had a letter from Bert Hodges from Java. The war situation was to acute in Shanghai for them to remain there. --- (Trusting Vernon that the April 2, 1927 and April 3, 1927 are on the incorrect pages. Not sure when Bert Hodges sent the letter, but if it was received on 4/2/1927 then they were out before the [Shanghai massacre](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_massacre).)
