Easter Sunday. Showers all day. But we needed the rain so badly that it is almost as welcome as the sunshine. Arose at four A.M. and drove in to Calvary Church. Took a load of boys and girls to top of West Rock to sunrise service, 5-09. No sun but a wonderful service. Hawley Lincoln led the singing. Rev. A.K. Chalmers of Dwight Place Church gave the message. All went back to the church for breakfast. Hurried home so that T.P.H. could take the car to attend seven o'clock service at St. Paul's Church. T.P.H. met Sarah at 10-13 train from New York. They went to St. Paul's Church. I went to Calvary. Many of our school children baptised. We held our Easter service at noon in the church school room, having whole school assembled. Mrs. Knapp, Aletha, Larry, and Nancy called this afternoon.
