Thursday, April 21, 1927 To Springfield store today. Very hot up there. 85°. Cooler in New Haven today. Went up and back on the train. T.P.H. met me and took me out to Violette's where we had dinner and meeting of the trustees of Calvary Baptist Church. This was the final meeting of the 1916-1917 board. Violette, Ed Fischer, and I go off the board this year. George Willis took me home in his new Reo. We had a terrific thunder storm during the night. --- (Surely Vernon means the 1926-1927 board.)
