Dearest Uncle Vernon-
You're an old peach to send me that adorable little bag. It's just as sweet as it can be. Sally says you chose it yourself and there's another reason for my likeing it. How did you know that I am especially fond of peacock feathers? The colors are perfectly beautiful.
I'm feeling just great now and my little Joan gets sweeter every day. I am so anxious for you and Auntie Tessie to see her. Would you please try to travel over this way one of these days?
Lay is giving a show entertainment at the Club New Year's Eve. I hope you will like it if you are there as I suppose you will be.
Thank you Uncle Vernon just heaps for my charming gift.
Affectionately,
Helen
