"College Deputation Visits Grand Isle"
A deputation from the University Y.M.C.A. composed of Richmond H. Curtiss '29, M.G. Pierce '27, C.E. Harwood '29, and Franklin Sears '30 went to Isle La Motte last Saturday evening. They took charge of the church services held in South Alburg and Isle La Motte on Sunday.
Saturday evening a debating team consisting of Mark Pierce, R.H. Curtiss and Franklin Sears met a team composed of residents of Isle La Motte, the subject debated being, "Have Women Justified their Right to Vote". The decision went to the people of Isle La Motte.
Sunday morning Mark Pierce had charge of the services at South Alburg, and R.H. Curtiss spoke on "What's in a Name". In the afternoon, C.E. Harwood had charge of the services at Isle La Motte, and spoke briefly of the "Application of the Golden Rule Today". J.H. Spears spoke on "Religious Conditions at the University".
The members of the deputation were well entertained during their stay, and were conducted about the Islands in sleighs.

(While I am curious which side of the debate Richmond Curtiss was on, that seems to have been lost to time. Clipping was between the March 27th and March 28th, 1927 pages.)
