Monday, August 1, 1927 Rain, rain, rain, and more rain. After days and days of rain, this was the hardest of all. A regular deluge. A great deal of damage was done. Cellars flooded all over town. 3.44 inches fell in three hours. This is Sarah's twenty third birthday. She is pending it at Camp Arden, Brattleboro, Vermont. We would have so much liked to have been with her but could not this year. We hope to go up and see her next Saturday.
