Monday, August 8, 1927 Home again and again more rain. We certainly choose the right time for our week end trip to Vermont. Found every thing in good order at the store. Had lunch at the Quinnipiac Club and attended a meeting of the Board of Governors right after. Newspapers this morning report the death of General Leonard Wood yesterday in Boston, Mass. He had experienced an operation for tumor. He was Governor General of the Philippine Islands. The natives are greatly mourning his death.
