Thursday, August 18, 1927 Pouring rain all day again today. Had intended to go to Springfield store but changed my mind and will go tomorrow. Ralph Lankler called to see me today. He is spending his vacation at Lake Waramang. He has a church in Pennsylvania. This has been the coldest August day in many years. The thermometer did not go above 58° all day and has gone much lower tonight. We have a fire in each fire place and we had steam on in the boiler at the store.
