Saturday, December 3, 1927 Cloudy again today. Store salesmens meeting this morning. Springfield men down. Mr. Ross and Mr. Gaines of the Red Stave Wheat Paste Company spoke to them. Worked all afternoon on calling painters for our smoker Monday night. Dinner tonight at the Quinnipiac Club in honor of John B. Tower, who has just been elected Mayor of New Haven for the second term. It was a fine party. Sam Kirby brought me home in his car. Georgia Tech won from the University of Georgia today in the South. This is the first defeat for Georgia this season and they in turn were the only team to win from Yale this year. Harley and I attended the funeral of Frank H. Belden, a former New Havener and a veteran member of the Grays and Foot Guards.
