Monday, December 19, 1927 The papers this morning tell of two awful tragedies. The Submarine S4 was in collision of Provincetown, Mass. She sank at once in about 100 feet of water with officers and men imprisioned in the boat. Heroic efforts will be made to rescue the men but not much hope is given of reaching any of them alive. The other tragedy occurred in Los Angeles, California where twelve year old Marion Parker, who had been kidnapped three days ago was delivered to her father brutally murdered after he had turned over the ransom asked for 1500 dollars. The whole nation is stirred and rewards totaling $100,000.00 have been offered for the capture of the murderer dead or alive.
