Sunday, December 25, 1927 Christmas Day in the morning and on Sunday too. We had planned to go to church today and have our Christmas dinner tomorrow. Sarah played the Christmas Carols on the Edison while having breakfast. I went in to Calvary Church. T.P.H. and Sarah went in to St. Paul's Church. At Calvary School, we had a Christmas program of song and tableau. We had dinner at home and spent the afternoon resting. Esther Phail and Elizabeth Burgess came in to see Sally. Tonight, we sat around the open fire and enjoyed our Christmas tree lighted so prettily just us three and no more. We are very grateful for all our blessings. "Yea Lord we greet thee. Born this happy morning; Jesus to thee be glory given; word of the Father, now in flesh appearing; O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord." --- ("The Edison" likely refers to a phonograph. There was a [letter inclosed](<Letter 2 from Amos Wilder to Vernon, 1927.md>) on this page from Amos Wilder.)
