Still raining and foggy and quite warm. No snow on the ground and no frost in the ground. Worked all day finishing up the inventory. I ran down to Calvary Church this afternoon to look in on the Primary Department Christmas Party. The dear little children did have such a good time. T.P.H. and I went over to the Spring Glen Club to dinner and dance as a New Year Party. The committee fed about 120 people, which was a lot considering the kitchen equipment. Sally drove in to town and attended church at St. Paul's communion at midnight. And so another year ends with its joys and sorrows but mostly blessings. We are blessed with good health, happiness, and many friends.
"The lighted windows dim are fading slowly.
The fire that was so trim now quivers lowly.
Go to the dreamless bed where grief reposes.
Thy book of toil is read, the long day closes."
