Tuesday, January 4, 1927 Rain again today. Rotary at noon. Ed Root of the New Haven Clock Co. spoke on "Early Industries in New Haven". He gave us a very wonderful talk. An electrical wire broke on the pole in front of our store and burned out one of the boilers. Had to have both fires drawn and the men worked right through till after midnight. Tess drove in and took Burt, Judd, and I home at quarter of one. Some expensive accident. Harley at home sick with a cold.
