Tuesday, January 18, 1927 My 51st birthday today. Do not feel any older than a year ago except for my knee. T.P.H. gave me a beautiful tie and a jar of shaving cream. Sally sent me the dearest poem as a birthday greeting and Alice Drew Lockwood gave me the two volumes of the life of Abraham Lincoln by Carl Sandburg. Then I received many cards of love and congratulations from friends at church and out. T.P.H. and I went to Woolsey Hall tonight to hear the joint concert of the University Glee Club and the Yale Glee Club. It was just so fine. --- (The poem from Sally is located [here](<Birthday Letter from Sarah to Vernon, 1927>)) [Prev](1927_01_17.md) - [Next](1927_01_19.md) <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/1a8MFFEprPvYQUSIpLXJh6kSpCopiCqnd">
