Thursday, July 14, 1927 In to the office early then left at 10 o'clock with T.P.H. and Mrs. Knapp for East Hampton, Conn. They to spend the day with Aletha, who is spending the Summer on an Island in Lake Pocotopog. I to speak at a outing given by the Wallingford Rotary Club to the grammer school boys just graduated. We all had a fine day. Late in the afternoon, I went over to Aletha's island and we all had dinner with the Stones and a Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth, who are staying with them. We went in swimming in the lake and it was just wonderful on account of the terrific heat. We drove back to New Haven in the evening.
