Sunday, July 31, 1927 It rained all night and it has rained all day and everything is wet and soggy. Slept rather late then drove in town to Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Wheaton, our assistant pastor, preached and he did mighty well for a young man. T.P.H. and I went in to Violette's to dinner and spent the afternoon with them. We had a nice dinner and a fine visit. We came home in time to get Sarah's letter mailed to her. It is her twenty third birthday tomorrow. Bless her heart.
