Left for Springfield store on 1-50 P.M. train. Mr. Shaffer took me over to Westfield where I was to speak at 6-30 to the Men's Club of the First Congregational Church. I had not been back there for 35 years. I joined that church when I was fourteen years old. Left there two years later to come to New Haven. Rev. Mr. Kepnan is pastor there now. Called on Lucy Cosby and spent the night at the Park Square Hotel. Group of New Haven men went to Hartford today to appear before the legislative committee to appeal for a new armory for New Haven to take the place of the old one on Meadow Street.
