Friday, March 25, 1927 Clear but quite cool again today. Had lunch at the Quinnipiac Club. Home tonight to dinner. after mailing Sally's letter, we went up and called on the Bennetts, our neighbor up the Street. Had a very pleasant call. Arthur Nabstedt of the New Haven Rotary called on me today and asked me to permit my name to be used as a candidate for District Governor of the 30th District. I was sorry to have to decline. I can not give the time to it this year on account of our new program at the store. Then again, I could not go over to Ostend, Belgium to the convention this Summer and the new Governor Elect really should attend the convention.
