Friday, November 11, 1927 Went up to the Springfield store today. As it was raining here this morning, I went up and back on the train rather than make the long trip alone in the rain. The train tonight coming down was loaded with Smith College girls coming down to the Yale Princeton game tomorrow. The subject of all football conversation is the barring from the game tomorrow of Bruce Caldwell, star halfback on the Yale team. The Yale Committee on Athletics met last night and decided definitely that he could not play. His ineligibility is based on the fact that he played on a Brown freshman team against Harvard and Dartmouth before transferring to Yale. This is against an agreement that exists between Yale, Harvard, and Princeton.
