A beautiful day, clear and not too cold. Went in to church and school. Newcomb Bassett here to dinner. Violette and Clayton called this afternoon. I dug up most of the dahlias this afternoon (I hate that job) and put them in the cellar. The whole sporting world is talking of the Yale game yesterday. It was a corker. Other games were

Helen Beckley Lambert's baby daughter born this morning at 5-30. They have named her Joan.
