Saturday, November 19, 1927 Breakfast at home. Drove to station for the special parlor car train for Boston leaving at 8 o'clock (left the Packard at the Garde Garage) for the Yale-Harvard game. T.P.H. and Sarah went along. We arrived in Boston at 11-30 and took a taxi to the new Statler Hotel for lunch. This hotel has only recently opened and everything about it delightful. We took a subway train to Cambridge and the Stadium. Our seats were in the wooden stands but we could see fairly well. It was a great game. Both teams played hard football and Yale won 14 to 0. The game of last week with Princeton had taken a lot out of Yale and slowed her up a lot. Garvey and Hammersby both made touchdowns, which is the first Yale has made a touchdown in the stadium since 1907 except in the rain in 1923 by Pond. This was the last game for Webster, captain, and Tad Jones, coach. A great finish to a great year.
