Monday, November 28, 1927 Raining hard again all day. Went to New York on the eight o'clock train. called on Mr. Thibaut in New York by appointment to talk over Wall Paper matters for the new year. Walked up and down Fifth Avenue and looked in the windows at the beautiful goods on display for Christmas. Had lunch and caught the one o'clock train back home. Went to the office and worked till six. T.P.H. called for me and we went out home to dinner. Sarah had to go back to the Drama School so I took her in in the Packard and worked at the store while waiting for her. Senator Borah is here tonight speaking at Woolsey Hall on the prohibition question. --- (Senator William Borah is the senator of Idaho, not Connecticut. He was supposedly a strong backer of prohibition and at this point likely gearing up for his presidential run in 1928.)
