Monday, October 10, 1927 Arose at the Hotel Aspinwall, Lenox, Mass. A glorious morning after the rain of yesterday. Quite cold, thermometer at 36°. Had breakfast there then drove to the Springfield store, coming by the way of Jacob's Ladder. The foliage colorings were gorgeous. Had lunch in Springfield, then went with Mr. Shafer to Northampton and sold J. Hugh Pierce his Wall Paper for next year. Back to Springfield. Picked up T.P.H. and drove down home. Sally was glad to have us at home and we are glad to see her and be at home. I started the furnace fire as it is quite cool inside the house tonight. The first Rotary Club to be formed in Germany formed in Hamburg last Saturday, October 8th, 1927. International president Arthur Sapp went over for the meeting.
