Still at Newfane, Vermont. We could not go down to camp this morning for Miss Evarts wanted the girls to rest. So we took Mrs. Carey, Alice, and Muriel up Newfane Hill. 1630 feet above sea level. It was so clear that we could see the mountains for miles. Alice and I left for home at noon, T.P.H. and Muriel taking us down to Brattleboro. We were unable to get a chair so came down all the way in the coach. It was very hot, but we got along nicely. It gave me a chance for a fine visit with Alice. T.P.H. and Muriel are to stay and bring Sally home on Thursday. Down to the armory tonight to meeting of the 111th Anniversary Committee of the Grays.
