Easter Sunday. I got up at four o'clock and took a crowd of our boys and girls up to the top of West Rock to the sunrise service. I called for little Marjorie Diamond on Wakefield Street and took her along with me. It had rained hard up to three o'clock this morning so we had no sunrise but we held the service just the same. We were enveloped in mist, shut away from the whole world. It was a lovely service of song, prayer, and inspiration. The Rev. Behrend Mehrtens of the German Lutheran Church was the speaker and he talked of the Resurrection. Sally had the "family" from the Drama School out for the day. After dinner, T.P.H. and I paid our Easter visit to Doris at the cemetery. Took up some flowers as always. We held our church school easter service at noon downstairs. We had flowers in church for Lota and Doris.
