Monday, August 6, 1928 Much cooler this morning after the thunder shower of last night. In to the office early and Mr. Chamberlain and I started to select the Wall Papers for the 1929 line. Glad to have it cooler. Down to Calvary Church this noon to see how the decorating and changes were progressing. It is going to look lovely when finished. T.P.H. called for me with the new Packard. We had dinner at home tonight. Afterwards, drove over to Blake Street, New Haven and called on Paul and Imogene Shaffer. We tiptoed in and peeked at their wee baby girl, fast asleep.
