Friday, August 17, 1928 Hot till noon then the rain came down and cooled things off a good deal. Lunch at the Quinnipiack Club. T.P.H. drove out to Woodbridge to attend the funeral of Miss Ella Peck. She was a fine type of New England lady. Meeting at the armory tonight of the 112th Anniversary Committee of the New Haven Grays. Plans were talked over and committees appointed with power to act. Stirling Chatfield brought me out in his car. --- (The only Ella Peck I've been able to find, I can't connect to Theresa. It's also possible that this is Isabelle Peck, but that would be Theresa's sister. And if she were still alive in 1928 and living as close as Woodbridge, it'd be surprising that we've never seen her mentioned before in Vernon's journals and that he wouldn't go to her funeral as well.)
