Beautiful Summer day and an eventful one for T.P.H. We rose early and after breakfast closed up the house and took out the new Packard and drove over to Willimantic, Conn. and called on Tess' Uncle Eugene and Cousin Annie. We took them to dinner to the new Nathan Hale Hotel, just built in Willimantic and afterwards we all drove over to Westminster and Canterbury to the old Peck homestead where T.P.H.' grandfather and father was born. Also went down the hill to Ford Ned where Tess was born. There is nothing of the houses left standing. Only the cellar wall. Mark the spot where once they all lived. The passing of the years make many changes. We drove home, stopping for supper with Uncle Eugene.
