Tuesday, August 21, 1928 A fine day. Not too hot. Rotary Club luncheon at noon at Hotel Taft. George Bassett spoke, telling us of his trip to Europe. Had supper in town and attended a meeting of the Broadway Business Mens Association held at the Parlor of Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln. It was called to make arrangements for a celebration to mark the extensive improvements made in Broadway by the City. The whole section has been repaved, the trolly tracks relocated, and the curbs around both greens set back, making the streets wider. But I am sorry to say making the parks much smaller. Had a talk with Miss Mundie tonight about the planned changes in our office personnel which would give Miss Bawwins (who has been at Wallingford) her position back and leave no place for her. I was so sorry to tell her this as she has been so fine in every way. [Prev](1928_08_20.md) - [Next](1928_08_22.md) <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/1spiK2FiSPK695bAUgMpcdqc-T7bXTDwm">
