Wednesday, August 22, 1928 Rain again today started about noon and is still pouring. Quite cold too. Some change after the heat. Our winter coal came today. 10 tons of stove coal and 5 tons of back wheat. Mr. Chamberlain and I finished selecting Wall Papers for the 1929 line for No. 1 Book (old 1 and 2) and No. 2 Book (old 3 and 4). This is the earliest we have finished this part of our books. Governor Alfred E. Smith will be notified of his nomination as the candidate for President on the Democratic ticket. He will then make his speach of acceptance.
