One of the hottest days of the year. The humidity was overpowering. Worked all day just the same. T.P.H. called for me and we went over to the Lovett Apartments at 100 Howe Street and had dinner with Bud Wicks and Dorothy Rawson, both of the Yale Drama School. Bud cooked most of the dinner himself and it was mighty good. Someone had a thunder shower near us and cooled off the air a bit so that we were able to sleep better than the last two nights. Went up to Grace Hospital this afternoon to see Richmond Curtiss. He was operated for appendicitis last Sunday night. He had his stitches removed today and will go home on Saturday. Pretty quick work.
