Friday, August 31, 1928 A beautiful day today. Cool and bright and a great relief to suffering humanity. T.P.H. brought the Packard in for me and after lunch, I took Will Dudley and we drove up to the Boys Scouts Camp near Winsted, Conn. It was a perfect day. We walked around and inspected the camp then watched and judged a parade of decorated boats and canoes. After the fun, the boys all went in for a swim then came the main event of the day (as far as the boys were concerned), the big banquet. And it was complete - turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, corn, milk, and ice cream. Many awards were made and I spoke to them for a short while.
