Cold and clear but a delightful Winter day. T.P.H., Sarah, and I had dinner tonight at the "Prattonia" and afterwards went down to Lampson Lyceum, Yale University to see the Kennedy's play, the "Chastening". It was just grand. They did do such a fine peace of work. Mr. Edward J. Pearson died today at John's Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. Up to two weeks ago, he was president of the N.Y.N.H. and H.R.R. Co. He had been president since the war and through his efforts, he had brought the "Road" from about a bankrupt condition to a dividend paying basis.
